Developments in music technology have eliminated almost all limitations in the recording process. Digitalization and its endless possibilities has made most of the current music sound mechanical, rigid and cold.

If you work with syncopated 60’s & 70’s rooted music (soul, funk, psych, reggae, afro, latin, caribbean) you know it’s crucial to have a certain amount of grit and sweat for it to sound right. It needs to be raw. It needs to have soul.

Finding someone who can truly understand these subtleties without falling into the dogmatic vintage void can be a real challenge.

After 20 years collecting and dealing records and 10 years making them I have developed obsessively trained ears and a sharp musical intuition.

If you’re sick of having to explain that you don’t mean it as a compliment when you say it sounds “too clean”, I hear you. That’s why I learned to make records myself. I figured the best way of combining the sonic principles of classic records with the convinience of current technology.

Location

Most of my work takes place online. However, if you wish to attend, I am located right in the heart of Amsterdam Oost, 10 meters away from the Wibautstraat Metro Station.
